Khabarovsk Krai is situated in the center of the Russian Far Eastern economic region and has common borders with People's Republic of China, Republic of Sakha (Yakutiya), Primorsky Krai, Amurskaya Oblast, Magadanskaya and Jewish Autonomous Oblasts. It is separated from Sakhalin Oblast with Tatarsky strait.
Khabarovsk Krai is one of the largest administrative-territorial units in the Russian Federation.
Its area is 788.6 thousand sq. km, that makes 4,5% of the Russian Federation area and 12,7% of the Far East of Russia. The Krai stretches on 1780 km from north to south and on 125-750 km from west to east.
