Thymallus is a fresh-water fish, inhabiting in the small fast-current rivers and cold lakes.
Color – bright with a great number of fine black round spots on its back and top parts of sides. There are also two brown strips along its sides. Back fin is very high and long, sometimes it takes a brightly colored loop form.
Thymallus feeds with fine bottom animals, caviar, insects, falling in the water. Large fishes can swallow rodents, swimming across the river.
