Sima (Oncorhynchus masu)

It is the only kind of Pacific salmon, which can be met only along the Asian coast.

Externally, sima is very much looks like kisutsch. The only difference is its anal fin and dark cross strips on its body. Sima reaches 63 cm length and 6 kg weight. The spawning period occurs at the same time with the the hunchaback salmon, with which people often mix it. Young sima lives in a fresh water up to the year and more; maturity comes in the 3rd-4th year of life.
